Formed in 1965 around London, England, Pink Floyd is known for their progressive and psychedelic music. Animals was the tenth studio album by the band that was released in January 1977 and consist of long-form compositions including the ever-popular song "Wish You Were Here". The album is a concept album that provides a scathing critique of the socio-political conditions of late 1970s Britain and presents a notable change in musical style. Despite tension during recording, the band would promote the album during their In The Flesh tour. During this tour, Roger Waters would become agitated with the crowd which formed the basis for their next record, The Wall (1979).
